Geocaching
Looking to have fun, build skills, and enjoy the great outdoors? Geocaching is a new phenomenon sweeping the national scene as a fun, mind challenging, outdoor recreational activity.
Noggins Corner Farm GPS Geocaching Challenge offers GPS navigation, sat-photo orienteering, and land navigation. Geocaching field trips are available to any group of 12 or more people.
Here is how it works:
Your groups arrives and is placed into groups of 4-6. If you are coming with a school, each group needs to have a chaperone. Each group is given one of our pre-programmed GPS reciever units, a gamesheet with an aerial photograph, and a brief orientation to the farm and the GPS unit. Once the introduction is complete the teams are off to explore, find the clue stations, and report back to the starting point. The Geocaching challenge takes place all over our farm focusing on our historic walking trail. Three trails are offered, ECO, History and Adventure Trails. The trail you choose determines how far you go and how much of a challenge it will be. The farm is home to five different ecosystems and a fantastic nest of Bald Eagles, a barn door shaped raccoon's den and a cool crow's nest, all of which can be seen while participating in the Geocaching Challenge.
Geocaching field trips book from mid April thru to mid November. The rates start at $8.00 per person (minimum of 12 people). For an additional $2.00 you can combine the geocaching with the corn maze and barnyard adventure area.
